More than just a best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer, and accomplished songwriter, Bonnie Raitt has become an institution in American music. Named by Rolling Stone as both one of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” and one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time,” with her 55+ year career, Raitt continues to epitomize what it means to stay creative, adventurous, and daring over the course of a life’s work.

“More than 50 years after the release of her first album, Raitt’s voice remains a subtle instrument: earthy with an ache around the edges. Its sly intimacy is, as always, a deep pleasure,” writes Fresh Air’s Ken Tucker. In her own words, Raitt has never felt more grateful that she can continue making music, keeping her crew working, connecting with her audience: “I’m really aware of how lucky I am and I feel like my responsibility is to get out there and say something fresh and new—for me and for the fans,” she says. “It’s really daunting not to repeat yourself, but I have to have something to say.”

Since the album’s release, Raitt has toured for audiences worldwide in North America, the UK, Ireland, Europe and Australia. This summer, she returns to Ravinia for an evening of classic hits and new favorites, giving us all “something to talk about!”

Playing the Carousel Stage at 5:30 p.m. is Charlieboy, an up-and-coming, genre-defying indie/art rock group from La Crosse, WI. Known for their intricate grooves, expressive vocals, and compelling choice of tones, the band has earned headlining spots at music festivals and sold out numerous live performances, where the experience has been dubbed a “religious experience” of “therapy rock.” Charlieboy has been building fast and steady momentum from their local scene into the Midwest and regions beyond since the release of their debut album, People Garden, a front-to-back indie rock foundation with more than 150K streams and honors as the Madison Area Music Awards Rock Album of the Year and a spot among Math Rock Times’s top 10 albums.

A multi-year guest at the Bitter Jester Music Festival, Charlieboy was named Runner-Up in the 2025 competition, out of nearly 100 bands. Alongside their own successes, the band has also partnered with the Grammys as the backing group to Carlie Hanson for the “Grammys Reimagined” YouTube series, and they backed Hanson at the BMO Pavilion during Summerfest 2024. Charlieboy’s sophomore album, Creature, a 10-track interpersonal display of complex emotions and sonically bubble-wrapped trauma, was released in March.
